I saw this over on VelvetRedBullet and decided I was bored enough to do it. PLUS! I'm very absent around here lately, so I'm compensating by overwhelming you with information :happybounce:  (*logic!*)Heart

Share your own info with me Airborne

  • When did your interest in photography begin?

As cliché as it may sound, it started circa 2004-5, when 14 y/o me came across DeviantArt. I was so taken aback to how talented people were, and how much they could achieve with something as ‘simple’ and as much as a ‘daily object’ as a camera.
I always wrote and drew and paint, but I started to find those medias constricting, and photography was the silver lining that came to my help. From then on I was hooked!!

  • What was the FIRST camera you used to take your photos?

I remember playing around with my dad’s film DSLR (a Nikon F-801 I think) when I was a kid, then the compact digital cameras appeared and me and my Nikon E5900 became best friends (best macro lenses on a compact camera I’ve ever seen tbh!)

I Never Want To Close My Eyes by starg691  Look at that pretty crisp macro, dude!!!

  • What was your first DSLR and when did you get it?

My dad’s Nikon D80 was the first DSLR I got my hands on. After 5 years of constant stolen moments I got my own: My beloved Canon 60D

  • What camera(s) do you own and use now? Any lenses?

        Canon 60D with a Canon 35mm f/2. I also own a Canon 50mm f/1.8 and a kit lense Canon 17-85mm f/4-5.6

I also sometimes use the old Nikon F-301

  • Do you still have the first photo you took with your camera?

F A D I N G . . . by starg691 First set of photos with the Canon 60D

  • What editing program did you use when you first started?

GIMP! Photoshop seemed way too complicated and I didn’t had access to the software at that time

  • And the one you use now?

Photoshop CS6 or CC, depends on which computer I am atm.

  • How did you gain your skills and knowledge? School, self-taught, etc?

I am mainly self-taught as I’ve never been to any Photography nor Photoshop class. I watched and read a lot of Photoshop tutorials and then applied them to Gimp. I also liked to just play around a lot. On my early days I used to over-use textures and layered out a lot!

I found a tiny little 10 pages-book in my house that was some sort of a on-the-go-manual for 35mm cameras where they broke down the very basics of different light situations. Apart from talking about different ISO’s films, the rest was all I needed to understand shutter speed and aperture!

  • Your favourite thing to capture? What do you like to focus your work on?

I guess I could say I’m obsessed with human nature. I’m a very introspective person, so I’m fascinated about feelings, and the constant diatomic battle of light and dark. I believe from the darkest moments the brightest images are born.
My photos are a sort of purge of my own over-working and anxious brain.  I conceive my works as static poetry, and the words that accompanied the piece as equal as important as the piece itself most of the times.

  • Is photography a hobby for you, or something you'd like to/currently are pursuing as a career?

As for now, photography is a hobby. A very important, and necessary for my mental-health hobby; but I don’t get anything out of it. But I’d like to pursue it as a career in the future, once my studies are over! (even though it’s scary as hell!!!)

  • Your dream camera that you'd love to own?

I’d die to own a Canon 5D *__* with an underwater case and a wide angle lens. If that’s not too much to ask…

Tiny little feature of the latest most inspiring pieces! +fav Heart

Bye bye premium

Hey people,
Yes, I'm still alive (somehow!)
Loads of things to tell here:

:bulletgreen: First, premium ran out, which means no cool feature posts anymore :(
Also, I didn't remember how annoying adds where on this site!! I've been a year without them and totally forgot!!!!

:bulletred: Second, the lovely :iconeviless: renewed my icon and now it's even lovelier than before! (Thanks for that )

:bulletblue: Third, my Friend Daniela  :iconthedaydreaminggirl: is hosting this amazing Golden Hour Contest , make sure you head out there and give it a go :)

:bulletpurple: Fourth, I'm still doing my 52 weeks, but because of the annoying adds and the lack of free time, I'm mainly based on Flickr and Facebook at the moment, so If you want to chat, or keep up with my uploads head there and you'd be welcomed ^^

Hope you are doing fine, and I also hope to keep my inbox up to date.

Loads of love
